«(…) Está um frio de rachar e ainda faltam umas duas horas para chegar a Brüllouse. Isto se o vento ajudar, nem quero pensar no aconteceria se fosse apanhado por um temporal nesta batela. Depois de ter servido durante dois anos no Exército do Ar, seria irónico vir a “desaparecer” no regresso a casa. Raios, o exército mudou-me mesmo. “Desaparecer”!?!? “Desaparecido” é a denominação dada pelo Exército do Ar aos camaradas que caíram dos A’s. Não há cadáver, então passa a desaparecido. Como é raro serem recuperados os corpos que caem... torna-se numa forma interessante de manipular a informação do que realmente se está a passar em Graan. Piratas a atacar tudo o que se mexe, os constantes ataques do exército dos Graanenses e sem falar das constantes revoltas no seio do povo. Todos as semanas há A’s que não voltam e camaradas que passam para a lista de desaparecidos… Ahhh Marion, falta pouco para te ver. Espero que o exército não me volte a chamar tão cedo para (…)» |
‘(…) It’s freezing cold, and there’s still a couple of hours to get to Brüllouse. If the wind helps, that is; don’t want to think about what would happen if a storm would catch us aboard this tub. After two years serving in the Army of the Air, it would be ironic to go “missing” on my way back home. darn, the Army really changed me. “Missing”!?!? “Missed” is what the Army calls the fellows who fell from the A’s. No body, so it’s missing. And since fallen bodies are seldom found... it’s an interesting way of manipulating what’s really happening in Graan. Pirates attacking everything that moves, the constant incursions of the Graanian army, not to mention the ever present upheavals of the people. Every week there are A’s that don’t make it back, and fellows that thicken the missing lists … Ahhh Marion, not much longer to see you. I just hope the Army doesn’t call me again soon to (…)’ |
